British Actors'
“L.A. Tour of Duty”
The Acting Corps is one of Los Angeles' largest and best respected acting studios – after having trained at The Acting Corps, 1200 current and former students now appear on IMDB. With strong ties to Great Britain, we offer British actors full time, long-term acting training in Los Angeles as well as the opportunities necessary to forge professional Hollywood acting careers. We don't just promise you introductions to agents and casting directors, we actually provide you with reliable acting tools before we introduce you to the industry – in this town, first impressions are everything.
How does it work?
It’s called The Professional Program. The Professional Program at The Acting Corps is nine months of serious, practical actor training. Twenty-two hours a week of acting technique, scene work, on camera work, and learning about the business, which includes meeting agents, managers, and casting directors.
Actors in the Professional Program receive the I-20 form from The Acting Corps with which they can secure their M-1 visas. The M-1 visa, in addition to allowing you to study at The Acting Corps in LA, has as part of its charter an element called 'Optional Practical Training' (OPT). OPT allows you to work in the entertainment industry, in the USA, for one month for every four months of training. If you wish to continue at The Acting Corps after the nine month period, The Acting Corps will renew your I-20 without your having to leave the US.
Student Testimonial
Many British actors have already attended The Acting Corps and here's what they have to say:

Elizabeth Smith
“Coming over from England to California to study for a month at The Acting Corps seemed like quite a daunting thing to do, but from the very first email to the last day at The Acting Corps the staff made me feel welcome and were extremely supportive, offering their advice on accomadation and transport.
I was first attracted to the Acting Corps after studying The Meisner Technique in Bristol, England and was looking to do a more intensive course where I could study this again, as well as other techniques. The teachers are all working actors which was also a big plus for them as I believe that you should be able to do the job before teaching the subject.
I loved getting up every morning and attending the DAWs as I found that each teacher had a different quality to bring to the class and in each session I was learning something new. It was an excellent class to network in as well because there were students from different boot camps.
I remember within the first half an hour of being at The Acting Corps, the whole class were up on their feet acting and performing. When they say on the website that you will be acting in every class every day, they're not lying!
My four weeks at Boot Camp I went so quickly and I wish that I'd booked to go straight on to Boot Camp II. I'm hoping to come back next year to do it.
Overall, the weeks that I spent at The Acting Corps contained the most fun experiences. I learnt more in 4 weeks than I did in the years at Drama School and I'm lucky enough to have now made friends all over the world.”
