The Acting Corps is one of Los Angeles' largest and best respected acting studios – after having trained at The Acting Corps, 1200 current and former students now appear on IMDB. With strong ties to Canada, we offer Canadian actors full time, long-term acting training in Los Angeles as well as the opportunities necessary to forge professional Hollywood acting careers. We don't just promise you introductions to agents and casting directors, we actually provide you with reliable acting tools before we introduce you to the industry – in this town, first impressions are everything.

The Professional Program for australians

How does it work?

It’s called The Professional Program. The Professional Program at The Acting Corps is nine months of serious, practical actor training. Twenty-two hours a week of acting technique, scene work, on camera work, and learning about the business, which includes meeting agents, managers, and casting directors.

Actors in the Professional Program receive the I-20 form from The Acting Corps with which they can secure their M-1 visas. The M-1 visa, in addition to allowing you to study at The Acting Corps in LA, has as part of its charter an element called 'Optional Practical Training' (OPT). OPT allows you to work in the entertainment industry, in the USA, for one month for every four months of training. If you wish to continue at The Acting Corps after the nine month period, The Acting Corps will renew your I-20 without your having to leave the US.

Student Testimonial

Many Canadian actors have already attended The Acting Corps and here's what they have to say:

I took Bootcamps I and II in early 2011 and about six months later booked a principle role on Untold Stories of the ER and have been short-listed for other exciting projects, not to mention filling my calendar with Indy projects. In other words, I am a working actor.

Everything I learned from Eugene, Luis and the others gave me the tools and the confidence to take my love of acting, and give my self the best chance to get out there and make it my reality. The feedback I receive from CDs in Vancouver is consistently positive and I know my career is in my own hands. It is no longer a question of "do I have what it takes?" I know I have what it takes, and now the hard work begins.

I love that The Acting Corps borrows from the masters, but also adds a new spin to the old exercises. I felt the programs were always fresh and Eugene has an uncanny ability to hone in on your hang-ups and get you up and over them. I recommend Bootcamp to all my serious actor friends, as it is a lot of work, both physically, emotionally and spirtually. But all that hard work sets you up to be a professional actor, and then the rest is up to you.

BTW I have gotten into the room in Canada soley based on having this training on my resume, as Eugene is a well-known and extremely well regarded master teacher.

Studying with the Acting Corps was a life altering experience. The training I received there ignited a passion me that I never previously knew existed. Upon completion of Boot Camp 1, I returned to Canada where I experienced withdrawal pangs craving further learning. Consequently, I registered for the next available Boot Camp 2 and traveled back to Hollywood.

The immersive Boot Camp experience offered by the Acting Corps is awesome. The talented faculty and supportive learning environment enabled me to realize tremendous growth and personal insight. I have nothing but the upmost gratitude for the education I received from training with the Acting Corps. Thank you!
