The Acting Corps is one of Los Angeles' largest and best respected acting studios – after having trained at The Acting Corps, 1200 current and former students now appear on IMDB. With strong ties to Canada, we offer Canadian actors full time, long-term acting training in Los Angeles as well as the opportunities necessary to forge professional Hollywood acting careers. We don't just promise you introductions to agents and casting directors, we actually provide you with reliable acting tools before we introduce you to the industry – in this town, first impressions are everything.
How does it work?
It’s called The Professional Program. The Professional Program at The Acting Corps is nine months of serious, practical actor training. Twenty-two hours a week of acting technique, scene work, on camera work, and learning about the business, which includes meeting agents, managers, and casting directors.
Actors in the Professional Program receive the I-20 form from The Acting Corps with which they can secure their M-1 visas. The M-1 visa, in addition to allowing you to study at The Acting Corps in LA, has as part of its charter an element called 'Optional Practical Training' (OPT). OPT allows you to work in the entertainment industry, in the USA, for one month for every four months of training. If you wish to continue at The Acting Corps after the nine month period, The Acting Corps will renew your I-20 without your having to leave the US.
